Girls evaluations will be held at Champlin Park High School, 6025 109th Ave N, Champlin, MN 55316. The registration table will be set up on the west side of the school near the tennis courts.

Q: Is there a cost for evaluations?

A: Yes, evaluation fees are mandatory and non-refundable for all players. 2018 Evaluation fees are $35.00 per player if registration is completed by midnight July 23rd, or $50.00 after July 23rd.  Online registration is required prior to check-in and will open on Monday, July 10.

Q:  Do I have to pay evaluation fees to play even if I can't or don't attend the evaluation sessions?

A: Yes, you are required to pay a fee for placement on a team for all players, even if the player cannot attend the evaluation sessions.

Q: What is my player being evaluated for?

A: Evaluations are used to determine placement for similarly-skilled players in the same age brackets, for U9-U18. Placement is primarily for 2018 Spring/Summer season league teams. 2017 Fall league play is optional. Generally, teams that are formed for Fall league will be maintained as the same teams for Spring/Summer league for continuity.

Q: Do you offer soccer for U9?

A: Yes! We will hold U9 player evaluations on Saturday, July 29.

Q: How do I know which age group my child is in?

A: Age groups are defined by the MYSA Birth Year Guidelines as indicated by the appropriate Birth Year and "2017-2018 Season" in the matrix.

Q: What if I don't play Fall league but want to play Spring/Summer?

A: Players can register for Fall league and Spring/Summer league play independently. Evaluation placement applies to the Spring/Summer season independent of Fall participation.

Q: What's the evaluation process?

A: Each player is given two opportunities to be evaluated at the U11-U18 age brackets and will be assessed by experienced evaluators. U9-U10 players are evaluated in one session. A variety of soccer skills and situations will be evaluated. Each player will receive a score that will be used for team placement. Upon completion of the evaluations, a placement committee meets to determine player and team placement. Results will be posted on the website for each after the final decisions are made. Only the players' tryout numbers and initials will be posted online.

Q: Can parents and coaches watch or attend the evaluation sessions?

A: Parents and coaches are not allowed to participate in the evaluation of players. Parents must remain on the field but they will be separated from the evaluation area.

Q: What if I can't make the evaluation sessions?

A: If a player cannot make any of the scheduled evaluation sessions please contact the appropriate Boys Director or Girls Director for any next steps.

Q: My player would like to be evaluated for an older age level, but there is only 1 age level available for sign up.  How do we sign up for the older age group?

A: The player will only need to register at their age level (automatically determined by birth date) and pay one evaluation fee, then contact the Boys Director or Girls Gender to notify them of your interest in being evaluated for an older age group. The player will need to attend the sessions for both age groups to be evaluated at each level.
